Come enjoy the fun and help us this Saturday at the St. Johns Town Center Barnes and Noble for our Book Fair. There are several opportunities for students and parents to help. Students should sign up as soon as possible and plan to wear their Creative Writing Tshirt if their fee is paid in full. Otherwise, please plan to wear something unique that either says LaVilla or create something yourself!
Also, creative writing students have the opportunity to meet with and talk to Jane Wood, a local author, who has written 5 historical fiction books. At 1 p.m., Saturday, Jane will conduct an informal workshop with students to discuss writing, research and publishing. Thank you, Jane, for supporting LaVilla!
WHAT CAN WE DO?
1. All students are encouraged to participate in 1 of 2 open mics we will have. Didn't make it in the fall show? Doesn't matter! Come practice speaking your piece! Extra credit for those who sign up and participate!
2. Work a table with your parent to offer our poetry booklets to veterans or those with veterans in their families.
3. Work the gift wrap table with an adult for 30 minutes.
HOW ELSE CAN I HELP?
Publicize our Book Fair on Social Media. Remember our Book Fair ID Code is good from Dec. 3 to Dec. 8! See info below on what to say:
